About Us

Ferre Institute, Inc. was created in Utica, NY in 1974 as a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion and expansion of infertility services, which were largely unavailable at the time.¬† Ferre provides professional education to medical providers, counselors, and other human services personnel.
The Infertility Education Program of Ferre Institute provides information and resources on infertility and related health issues to healthcare professionals and the public. More specifically we make available, to couples experiencing problems bearing a child, resources for treatment and resolution of infertility, and adoption options. Professional resources include training in infertility and related reproductive health issues.

In 2012, Ferre Institute launched a new initiative to address the severe lack of information and learning opportunities for women and men who are members of the Deaf community and facing infertility. Thus this website was born.
